Description

ART CHALLENGE V!!!

Don't forget FULL VIEW!

So then here is the colorised RockGirl picture, it took me lots of time but to be honnest i'm quite happy of the result.

So what i had in mind? First of all a simple organising: flat, shadows and enlighting. It was'nt too difficult to do the flat, even if finding a "megamanish" sheme was'nt as simple as i thought, however shadowing was far more difficult, especially making smooth curves with the wacom, i alas still need to practice this.

No big visual effects for this color, i tried some but they failed (and she's jumping, not shooting Dual ^^)). However i corrected some light mistakes, especially the size of the canon but i admit "following" a pose reduces your creativity. However i hope i did the hair right, i never coloured such a big cut!

And don't forget, critiques are welcomed, don't hesitate!

Enjoy!

It certainly looks great in color! The size of the cannon works a lot better now. Though, the pose (particularly the position of the arms) looks very similar to the pose Mega Man X takes when he fires off a charged shot, which is what made me think you intended to have her shooting.

Since she's jumping, I'm led to wonder if she's ascending or descending because the position of the hair says she must be going up, but her overall posture looks more like she's coming in for a landing.

As for the colors and shadows, you've done pretty well overall, but her whole body would cast a shadow upon her hair. You have a gap in the shadows on the hair adjacent to her torso region that's inexplicable since you have shadows going along her torso and thigh right next to it.

I would also suggest adding some highlights since she's a machine, some strong hotspots here and there to make her look shiny. Consider your light source and think about what part of each segment of her armor would be closest to it, and put some white spots in those places. It's not necessary and can easily make a piece look over-rendered, but done with subtlety it can really enhance the look of a piece like this.
